The MACC or Maui Arts and Cultural Center is home to: the Castle Theatre, A and B Amphitheatre, Schaefer Gallery, Yokouchi Pavilion, Founders Courtyard, the Pa and McCoy Studio Theatre, located in the North of Kahului. The MACC often hosts musicians, comedians, acrobats, dancers, and actors in its multiple venues. The logo for the MACC shows a petroglyph image of a human releasing a bird, it symbolizes “the freedom of expression that lies at the heart of all creative endeavors”

Concurrent exhibits will feature personal approaches in photography by two women. Ai Iwane from Tokyo, Japan, has been using a Kodak Cirkut (large-format 360-degree rotating panoramic camera) to develop compelling images of the aftermath of the Fukushima disaster of 2011. This year the 19th annual Zenshin Daiko’s Taiko festival concert will start with Stanford Taiko, one of the leading collegiate taiko groups in North America.
