Want a beautiful body? I’m not talking going under the knife–no, you’re going to have to work for it.
The West Maui Health and Fitness Expo is your ticket to figuring out the newest fitness fads to whip you into shape. The Lahaina Cannery Mall hosts this Expo on Oct. 8 starting at 10:30am, where you can see booths of fitness offerings, on stage demonstrations, products, athletic wear and more.
“Health is on everyone’s mind,” said expo organizer Amanda Furgiuele. “It’s a multi-billion dollar business. I think people are interested in health and fitness now more than ever. We have so many technological advances in the industry, tons of gadgets and equipment to make getting fit more fun, and it really is easy to get started. It’s all about making small changes–walking a few extra blocks, ordering one less cocktail at dinner, putting down the bag of Doritos one-handful sooner. That’s where you’re going to see steady, life-altering results, and that’s where the expo can help.”
The expo will feature a full day of fitness classes and healthy-living showcases open to everyone. Exhibitors will showcase products and services, give away classes and coupons, and be on site to answer any of your questions. Prizes up for grabs include pilates, pole dancing, zumba, yoga, kickboxing classes, CrossFit memberships, Lululemon Athletica accessories, clothing, massages and more.
“I’ve been working in the fitness industry for over 10 years and it never gets boring!” said Furgiuele. “I started out teaching collegiate fencing, then moved to rock climbing, caving, kayaking, and ropes courses. Then I began exploring pilates and yoga and anything outdoors. The idea that working out is limited to running on a treadmill and doing straight bicep curls is antiquated. Fitness is constantly evolving. It’s fun, if you find the program that works for you. I want everyone to love working out as much as I do! That’s why I created this Expo. If I get one person excited about getting healthy, then this was time well-spent.”
