Dave Sweedler: How did you get involved in surfing?
Lili Mckinney: When I was younger, my family went to the beach all the time and everybody surfed.
Sweedler: Who are your influences?
Mckinney: Shaun Fleming is my hero. And my cousin Gus Gebb.
Sweedler: Do you compete in contests?
Mckinney: I have for a couple of years. I’ve had good results, but I really do better in bigger waves.
Sweedler: What’s your strongest manuever?
Mckinney: Floaters.
Sweedler: Favorite surf video?
Mckinney: Kill 3.
Sweedler: What other hobbies do you have?
Mckinney: Gardening and reading.
Sweedler: What are your plans this summer?
Mckinney: Surf and work. Well, mostly surf.
Sweedler: Any sponsors?
Mckinney: Sprout Surf, Maui No Ka Oi, Mark Angell Pro Shapes, Maui Mood Wear and Marvy Surf Materials.
Sweedler: What are your future goals?
Mckinney: To surf big waves, travel to Japan and surf in contests.
