Teen years are bad enough, but try being a young person struck with hair loss due to medical treatments. It’s devastating.
Thankfully, Locks of Love is coming to the rescue for these youth by providing hairpieces to those who can’t otherwise afford them. This Saturday, Sisters & Co. Boutique and Salon will hold a Locks of Love benefit by offering free haircuts for those willing to chop off 10 inches or more and donate it.
“The ‘Locks of Love’ program has such a tangible, positive impact on these kids,” said Bob Dye, general manager of The Shops at Wailea and Maui chairperson for the CBRE Cares program. “We applaud Sisters & Co. and the CBRE Cares family for volunteering their time and resources to host this event, and appreciate the many other merchants and community members who have rallied to support this cause.”
Even if you don’t have 10 inches of hair to donate, you can still participate. Sisters & Co. are offering a haircut, shampoo and blow dry for a minimum donation of $10. They will also have other services like a hand/arm massage and nail polish change, also for a minimum donation of $10. Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar will provide food and there will be a silent auction. One hundred percent of the money raised at the event will go to Locks of Love.
