A notice just posted by the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission indicates that state Senator J. Kalani English, D-7th District, will try to pick up a few bucks from Oahu’s big money donors tomorrow night. The fundraiser, which is scheduled to take place at the Oahu Country Club from 5:30-7:30pm, has a “suggested contribution” of $250 per person.
The club bills itself as “Hawaii’s oldest and most respected country club.” It dates to 1906 and boasts the oldest existing 18-hole course in the state.
English generally has a pretty safe seat, which covers East Maui, Molokai and Lanai. The most recent disclosure report he filed with the state Campaign Spending Commission shows he had $41.233.12 in the bank as of the last day of 2013.
