Looks like a Maui Community Correctional Center inmate escaped while on a work furlough yesterday–just two weeks from starting parole, too:
“Work furlough inmate LeRoy Wright left the Maui Community Correctional Center (MCCC) to go to work at 2:45 p.m. yesterday,” states an Oct. 1 news release from the state Department of Public Safety. “During the work day a MCCC corrections officer went to Wright’s place of employment to check on him. Wright fled when he saw the corrections officer. Maui Police were notified.”
According to the release Wright is 37, six feet tall and weighs 177 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and neck tattoos.
“Wright was serving time for Burglary 1,” states the news release. “Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges. He was tentatively approved for parole to begin on October 14.”
If you see Wright, officials urge you to call 911.
