Lahainatown Action Committee is holding a contest for a new “Halloween in Lahaina” t-shirt design. The winning design will effectively reflect the theme ‘Great Energy’ at this year’s event.
“Lahaina is known for their famous artists,” said Jill Holley, LAC Executive Board Member. “It is the goal of the LAC to invite the public to share their creative ideas of this well known event with our community.” Proceeds from sales of the official 2012 T-shirt will benefit the 2012 Lahaina Halloween Celebration.
As well as being recognized for the winning design, the artist will receive a “Living Large in Lahaina Package,” which includes a “staycation” at a Maui hotel plus Lahaina merchant certificates and gifts totaling more than $500.
Those who want to enter should submit designs in vector format or PDF. All designs must include the words “2012 Halloween in Lahaina.” Designs should include a minimum of four colors and should show off a positive, non-offensive design that would be good for families including keiki (children). Images will be placed on black and white t-shirts.
The deadline for submission of artwork is 5pm on Monday, July 2, 2012. The competition is open to everyone. The artwork must be original and unpublished with the image being a recognizable Halloween In Lahaina theme.
Entries must be delivered electronically to lynn@visitlahaina.com. There is a non-refundable entry fee of $25 and the contest is limited to five (5) entries per artist. For more information, go to the Lahaina Town Action Committee website at visitlahaina.com or call Lynn Donovan at Lahaina Town Action Committee at 808-667-9175.
