First the Hyatt Regency Maui got a facelift. Now the resort is getting a new Sales and Marketing Director: Nate Hardesty. Hardesty comes to the island after more than a decade with the Hyatt Hotels Brand, most recently at the Lake Tahoe Resort.
“Coming off of the property’s recent multi-million dollar renovation, we’re excited to have Nate aboard to help promote the resort and showcase the upgraded guestrooms, new dining destination, Japengo and our transformed lobby arrival experience,” said Michael Jokovich, general manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa.
Nate joins the property after the completion of an extensive $21 million face-lift, culminating with an extensive renovation of the lobby and Atrium room corridors. Earlier changes included stylishly updated guestrooms and an exciting new restaurant, Japengo, which specializes in Pacific Rim cuisine and sushi.
A graduate from Northern Illinois University, Hardesty began his career with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in 2001 at Hyatt Regency Indianapolis as a corporate management trainee. Following his three-year stay in Indianapolis, Hardesty became the sales manager at Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego where he cultivated his sales and marketing skills and later abetted him to become the associate director of sales at Hyatt Regency O’Hare. By 2007, Hardesty was promoted to the director of sales and marketing at Grand Hyatt Denver where he led his sales and marketing team for two years.
“I’m excited to be joining such a vibrant and passionate group at Hyatt Regency Maui,” said Hardesty. “I look forward to working with this team to focus our efforts on developing marketing and sales strategies to help increase group and leisure business and leverage the resort’s authentic Hawaiian hospitality.”
