Imua Family Services is a finalist for the Cades Schutte, The Cades Foundation Nonprofit Leadership Award. This is the second time Imua has been a finalist for this award; the nonprofit made the finals in 2011. Imua Executive Director Dean Wong is also a finalist for the American Savings Bank Business Leader of the Year Award.
Pacific Business News announced the award nominations Oct. 3. The PBN Business Leadership Hawaii Awards will be held Nov. 13 at the Sheraton Waikiki on Oahu.
Imua Family Services provides comprehensive early childhood development services to children and their families with the support and resources needed to achieve their full potential in life. Each year, more than 3000 community members on Maui and Lanai receive support through Imua’s Infant & Child Development Program, Early Childhood Development Program, Newborn Hearing Screening, and Camp Imua.
Currently, Imua Family Services is in collaboration with Easter Seals Hawaii to convert the old Maui Land & Pine 10,000 square-foot property in Kahului on Wakea Avenue alongside the Easter Seals Hawaii, Maui Campus. Imua’s new location will be a state-of-the-art campus for Early Childhood Intervention Services in what will become the Imua Family Services, Early Childhood Training and Development Center. The Building is set for completion in spring 2015.
