The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa recently received the Hotel of the Year Award for Luxury/Resort Hotels, which is the top honor at the annual Host Hotels & Resorts Best in Class awards. During the April 14 awards, the operators and managers of Host properties across the globe were recognized and celebrated for their accomplishments.
“We are overjoyed to be recognized as the Hotel of the Year,” said Allan Farwell, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. “This honor is a wonderful recognition of all of the hard work and dedication our associates put into providing fantastic guest service. As a premier destination on one of the most beautiful islands in the world, we look forward to welcoming more leisure and business travelers to the resort and sharing our Aloha spirit, and to continue a great partnership with Host Hotels & Resorts.”
W. Edward Walter, President and Chief Executive Officer of Host Hotels & Resorts said the organization was pleased to award Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa the Hotel of the Year Award. “This award honors hotels that generated top financial performance, exemplary leadership and entrepreneurship and superior guest and associate satisfaction,” Walter said. “We’re proud of this team for achieving and continuing to strive for excellence.”
This is not the first time a Maui resort has been recognized as Hotel of the Year. In 2015, Fairmont Kea Lani, also a Host Hotels & Resorts property, received the Hotel of the Year Award for Luxury/Resort Hotels.
Hyatt Regency Maui’s Hotel of the Year Award comes shortly after the resort’s recognition at the 2016 ‘Aipono Maui Restaurant Awards. Japengo took home three awards, receiving Gold for Best Sushi for the third consecutive year, Gold for Best Asian cuisine and Silver for Restaurant of the Year.
