From Saturday, Feb. 15 to Monday, Feb. 17, the National Park Service is waiving entry fees to Haleakala National Park. It’s in honor of President’s Day, which is kind of a made-up holiday because we no longer celebrate the separate birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
So yeah, you should totally go tip your big toe in Oheo Gulch or take a crack at hiking the summit. You know Washington and Lincoln would have.
