UPDATE: Akaku/radio personality Shawn Michael, who attended the hearing, just Tweeted that the LC has the whole matter involving Kihei Kalama Village (the “Barmuda Triangle”) for six months. He reported that the vote to do so was unanimous. Michael said commissioners told the bar owners who testified that they should monitor the noise coming from their establishments because six months from now, the LC will take up the matter again.
CLARIFICATION: Shawn Michael just called back to clarify that the Liquor Commissioners voted down the proposed rule change immediately, but voted unanimously to hold another public hearing on the matter in six months. The length of time was agreed to so that Triangle owners have time to control the noise situation.
