Our infrequently-seen fam from Japan just arrived, so Nana whipped up a batch of her famous chicken curry, to feed our famished travelers.
Nana and Granddad raised my mom and uncles in the South Pacific during the ’60s and ’70s, so we eat our curry “Samoan style”; piling on toppings of mango chutney, shredded coconut, nuts, and raisins (well, in this case, Craisins). But, shucks! We forgot the sliced banana!
Of course, plenty of steamed rice makes a good bed for the curry, but bread sticks and bread with baked-in olives was a nice extra.
Mmm! Steaming stew hot off the oven. (And grapes for dessert!)
