Escape to Hana for the 22nd annual East Maui Taro Festival this Saturday and Sunday. The town comes together to celebrate this vital staple of Hawaiian history and culture. Hands-on demonstrations will include poi pounding, hala weaving and kapa making. There will also be plenty of food booths to enjoy. Sunday will continue the festival with a day featuring a kalo pancake breakfast, Lo’i excursion and garden tours. Saturday-9am-5pm. Sunday-times vary. Hana Ballpark (Hana); tarofestival.org
