Round the island of Maui on Turkey day
With just a day to go till Thanksgiving we will all be feasting in the next twenty four hours. If you don’t have a turkey plan don’t worry we have you covered here with plenty of options for the day to give thanks that may or may not include turkey. My strategy this year was to make a turkey prior to thanksgiving, and take advantage of the bounty Maui’s restaurants have to offer on the big day. Please note the pricing below does not list child options that are available. I recommend calling in reservations if you can.
Wailea has plenty of great menu options from buffets to turkey plates on the menu. Capische’s Chef’s Tasting menu is a fantastic four course extravaganza. Gannon’s a Pacific View has a full self serve Thanksgiving buffet starting at 4:30, and Joe’s features a turkey entree on their menu. Mulligans on the Blue will have a Thanksgiving buffet starting at 3pm or a 3 course dinner, whichever you prefer, with live music with Jordan and Wolf starting at 5pm. There is a rumor Wolfgang Puck will be at Spago’s cooking Thanksgiving at Four Seasons and from 2:15 to 5pm you can get the locals special turkey entree for just $24. Spago’s menu features roasted turkey, molokai sweet potatos and housemade marshmallow, and rosemary brandied gravy. At Longhi’s Wailea thanksgiving seating begins at noon. Mala Wailea has a huge buffet with carving stations with two seatings: 3 to 3:30pm and 5 – 9:30pm.
Kapalua’s Plantation House Restaurant will have ala carte menu with a traditional oven roasted turkey and candied yams. Merriman’s will serve organic roasted turkey with pineapple cran relish. At Roy’s Kahana their 3 course pre fix menu has sausage stuffing and giblet gravy. In Kaanapali, Pulehu has a four course thanksgiving inspired menu for $40. At Umalu organic turkey with portuguese sausage stuffing will be served for $45. Leilani’s turkey feast will feature apple pistachio stuffing and all the fixings for $27. Ono Bar and Grill will also be serving a thanksgiving feast. Duke’s on the Beach has a special menu, and Kaanapali Beach Hotel is serving their all you can eat buffet with a brunch or dinner seating. The Club House will have turkey and football starting at 11 am.
The Hard Rock Lahaina will be feeding hungry less fortunate folks with their annual Feed My Sheep and Lahaina Salvation Army free dinner that starts at 10am. David Paul’s pre fix menu features organic turkey, lamb, or ham $55 seating begins at 5 pm. Lahaina Cafe will have football games and a $5 special turkey plate. Lulu’s celebrates thanksgiving with their turkey plate and pipikaula stuffing for $25. Lahaina Grill opens early at 5:30 seating till 9:30, with their thanksgiving entrees and ala carte specials. Mooses with have thanksgiving plates for $17. Canoes serves guava glazed turkey.
Up the mountain Kula Lodge has ala carte thanksgiving entrees, and Makawao Steak house serves a thanksgiving feast starting at 4 with a salad bar. Rodeo General Store will have dinner for 8-12 for $129 that you can pick up or veggie lentil loaf, prime rib or turkey plates to go. At Hailiimaile General Store the turkey buffet starts at 2:30. Mama’s Fish House still has lunch seatings for Thanksgiving, start with their kabocha pumpkin bisque with lobster. Moana Bakery and Cafe has a buffet at 3pm till 7pm for $29.
In Maalaea check out Beach Bums for an amazing kiawe smoked tukey, prime rib or ham from noon on. Buzz’s Wharf offers a turkey roast or prime rib dine in or take out $29. Waterfront opens at 4 with their Thanksgiving menu. The Ale House and Da Kitchen will be closed in Kahului, but you can enjoy their thanksgiving specials on wednesday. Down to Earth will also be closed but Tuesday and Wednesday they feature their mock turkey cutlets and garbanzo gravy at their hot bar. Maui Beach Hotel, King Kamehameha Golf Course and Maui Tropical Plantation will have grand buffet options, from only $30 to $40. Coconut Grill will also have a Thanksgiving menu available. Whole Food Market will have special hours opening 8am-9pm M-T, 7am -10pm Wed, 7am – 3pm Thursday. They have a 6 person holiday meal for $100, organic turkey, traditional stuffing and mashed potatoes and all the fixings.
In Kihei the Thanksgiving spirit will be going strong. Da Kitchen is open from 9 am to 9 pm serving their turkey plate for $12.50. Stella Blues Cafe has an incredible menu planned, starting with their festive Waldorf Salad, Asian chicken Wonton Cups, Turkey, their famous Macadamia nut mahi mahi, or prime rib. Monsoon India will have a Thanksgiving buffet, BYOB, and Beka the Bellydancer will be entertaining. Also BYOB at 808 Bistro with turkey and all the fixins for $25. At Kiwi Roadhouse its potluck, they are serving a the Thanksgiving dinner for free, you just bring a side dish to share and enjoy the live entertainment from Billy and the Bad Dogs.
Five Palms will feature a three course menu with a roasted turkey entree for $37, staring at 3pm. Mooses Kihei will have their turkey entree available for $17. Dog and Duck at Kihei Kalama Village will be celebrating Thanksgiving with regular hours. Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse opens at 11 am and will have a House-smoked organic Turkey leg with your choice of any two sides and a special holiday dessert for $16.
