It’s only been going on for four years now, but the four-day Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival is kind of a big deal. There will be food prepared by more than a hundred “celebrity chefs” (that means for us non-foodie people you get to see Master Chef‘s Graham Elliot and a bunch of other people, mostly from the LA area) and wine from more than a hundred wineries. And in all that mass of opulent food and spirits, little Ocean Vodka from Kula will be there.
“Ocean Vodka will be serving freshly made handcrafted cocktails nightly, paired to the evening’s theme,” states an Aug. 18 news release from Ocean Vodka. “For example, Friday night will be Asian Night Market and the Ocean Vodka Blueberry Ginger and Asian Fusion cocktails will be served.”
What’s more, the Food & Wine Festival itself will help benefit the Berkley Foundation (the nonprofit arm of the mighty Coastal Luxury Management, a big Monterey-based event and hospitality management firm), which assists the youth of Monterey County. Of course, as someone who spent his formative years in the greater Southern California area, I have to reject the news release’s statement that the Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival will be “amid one of the country’s foremost cultural destinations along Grand Avenue”–it’s downtown LA, people, not the Smithsonian–but that’s just me.
The festival runs Aug. 21-24 in Los Angeles. Click here for more info.
