Mama’s Fish House Restaurant & Inn Wins Three Honors at the 2010 ‘Aipono Awards
KU’AU, MAUI- More than 36 years after its humble beginnings, Maui’s first fresh fish restaurant continues to garner accolades for being one of the top seafood restaurants anywhere. Mama’s Fish House was the proud recipient of two Gold awards-for “Most ‘Maui-est'” and “Best Seafood”-and a Silver award for “Restaurant of the Year” at the 2010 ‘Aipono Awards Gala, held in the ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, on Sunday, April 18.
Sponsored by Maui No Ka Oi magazine, the ‘Aipono Awards annually recognize the best of Maui’s food, wine and hospitality industries. ‘Aipono is Hawaiian for “excellence in food.” Winners were selected by Maui No Ka Oi readers, who voted by mail-in ballot or online at the magazine’s website, www.mauimagazine.net.
Proceeds from the gala-attended by some 250 members of Maui’s restaurant industry-benefit Maui Culinary Academy and its students, tomorrow’s chefs.
