Honolulu Cookie Company has teamed up with Shane Victorino to help raise money for the two-time World Series Champion’s charity for children. The Oahu-based cookie company will donate a portion of proceeds from its new “Flyin’ Hawaiian” Gift Box to the Shane Victorino Foundation’s community initiatives benefiting underserved children.
“My wife, Melissa, and I are very grateful for all the support that the Honolulu Cookie Company is giving to our Foundation, which allows us to give back to communities that have given so much to us,” said Victorino. “Every year, since we started our Foundation, our goal has been to increase our impact on kids in need—and this year, Honolulu Cookie Company is giving us a real boost,” said the two-time MLB All-Star.
Victorino, nicknamed the Flyin’ Hawaiian, made his Major League Baseball debut in 2003 with the San Diego Padres. He is currently outfielder for the Boston Red Sox. His career has included playing for the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Maui-born Gold Glove Award-winner has hit 107 career home runs.
“We are honored to partner with Shane and Melissa to support their Foundation, which is improving the lives of so many children,” said Ginger Waters, Vice President of Honolulu Cookie Company. “Along with his countless other fans, we have long admired Shane not only for his talent, hard work and sportsmanship, but for his commitment to his family and community.”
The limited-edition Shane Victorino “Flyin’ Hawaiian” Gift Box includes 16 shortbread cookies in eight classic flavors, including all-star favorites Dark Chocolate Kona Coffee, Chocolate Macadamia, Pineapple Macadamia and Lilikoi Mango. The Gift Box costs $14.95; and $2.00 from every sale will be donated to the Shane Victorino Foundation. As a bonus surprise, 18 Gift Boxes will come with an autographed Shane Victorino baseball card.
The “Flyin’ Hawaiian” Gift Box is available online at HonoluluCookie.com, as well as in both of Honolulu Cookie Company’s Maui retail locations (Whaler’s Village, Front Street), its Ala Moana and Ward Center locations on Oahu, and its retail store at The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo in Las Vegas.
In addition, Honolulu Cookie Company will donate 500 Shane Victorino “Flyin’ Hawaiian” Gift Boxes to the seventh annual Celebrity Dinner & Golf Classic, which will be held Nov. 22 at the Wailea Golf Club Gold Course and Grand Wailea Resort on Maui (the event benefits the Shane Victorino Foundation).
Also, the annual Shane Victorino Foundation’s Toy Drive kicks-off in Las Vegas on Dec. 17. As a way of saying thank you, Honolulu Cookie Company will be offering a “Gift of Giving” coupon with each donation good for free cookies when visiting one of their retail stores. The toy drive will run through Christmas. In addition to the toy drive, SVF hosts an annual holiday party in Las Vegas for children facing poverty, homelessness and other crises.
Victorino and his wife Melissa created The Shane Victorino Foundation in 2010. The foundation engages in projects which provide children in need with educational, recreational and wellness programs. SVF’s long-term goal in Hawaii is to improve youth baseball fields. As the first step towards that goal, the Foundation has started plans to build a batting cage on Maui, in addition to the cage that opened on Oahu last year.
