According to a recent Pacific Business News story, Maui Brewing Company’s Garrett Marrero is teaming up with Chris Thibaut and Bill Terry to build a new brewpub in Waikiki. Apparently, Jimmy Buffett’s parrothead paradise at the Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel has run its course. Terry took over operations of Buffett’s nearly a year ago and plans to close it in 2016. The article states the location will be gutted and a new build-out will start from scratch.
Marrero is also currently working on the build-out for his restaurant brewpub in Kihei, which now just sports a tasting room with live music, a food truck rotation, brewery tours, growlers and logo wear for sale.
