‘Aha‘āina O Kā‘anapali– Fri. Aug 29. Journey from ancient Hawaii to contemporary times with the the ‘Aha‘āina O Kā‘anapali event. The evening begins at sunset with a chicken skin Hawaiian ceremony with Lāhainā’s newly launched double-hulled voyaging vessel, the Mo‘okiha o Pi‘ilani. She will lead a flotilla of canoes to the shores of Kā‘anapali Beach, to be greeted by traditional Hawaiian chants and an exchange of gifts from sea and land. From there culinary delights of ancient Hawaii await you. The clean, natural flavors of fish, seaweed, sweet potatoes and taro; then on to the Golden Era, with the savory taste of farm-raised beef and pork, and sweet golden pineapple. Try your hand at the craft with guidance from the award winning mixologists of Kaanapali. The twist in this segment will be using craft brew with your libations.
