We aren’t a pagan tribal community that sends offerings up to the gods at Friday-night fire-lit dance rituals while wearing carved masks and drinking herbal concoctions that cause transcendental experiences. But maybe we should be…some tribal entertainment might be just the trick to mix up the usual Maui nightlife this weekend. The South Shore Tiki Lounge is throwing together a tiki-inspired art show and dance party. The show will open up to the tune of Exotica DJ Cudra Clover, and the evening will wrap up with DJ Joey the Wrench. Setting the scene for an interesting evening, the show will include a colorful, daring painting titled “Kong Tiki” by Ron Pitts, as well as an actual tiki carving called Von Krampus by Scott Johnson. This fun and unique art is just right to shake up the art and entertainment scene… don’t expect any boring paintings of a majestic sunset over a calm ocean this night. Stop by the Tiki Lounge Sunday, March 14th at 8 PM to set the tone for your best spring break yet. By: Sierra Brown
