The fourth annual Lanai Slack Key Festival is returning to the Pineapple Isle this weekend. Honoring the late Rev. Dennis D. K. Kamakahi, the three-day festival (it runs Friday through Sunday) will feature Kevin Brown, Benny Uyetake, Damon Parillo, Darren Lopez and special guests. Whether you find yourself in the Great Hall at Koele or learning the basics with Kevin Brown, slack key enthusiasts are invited to enjoy performances and workshops across Lanai. Coffee Works, Cafe 565, Mimi’s Place, Canoes, The Local Gentry and the Anuenue Juice Bar are just a few stops during Saturday’s Slack Key Stroll. Sunday will end the festival with a breakfast and dinner show. Go online for performance times and locations. Free, Lanaislackkeyfestival.com
