Kokua the Philippines by going to this benefit event, Kain Na!, this Sunday. Given the devastating earthquake that struck in October, and the super-typhoon that hit last week, they really need it. Here, local chefs will create a culinary experience for guests, complete with a halo-halo bar. The family style banquet will feature music by DJ Ron, chef action stations and a silent auction. Featured chefs include Joey Macadangdang (Roy’s, Ka’anapali), Gevin Utrillo (Hyatt Ka’anapali), Isaac Bancaco (Ka’ana Kitchen, Andaz Maui), James Simpliciano (Simplifresh), Jake Belmonte (Maui Culinary Academy), Jojo Vasquez (The Plantation House), Larry Badua (Badua’s Catering), Riko Bartolome (Slow Food Maui) and Sheldon Simeon (Mala Wailea). All proceeds will benefit nonprofit agencies engaged in earthquake relief efforts in the affected regions. $50. 5:00pm-8:30pm. Binhi At Ani Filipino Community Center (780 Onehe’e Ave., Kahului); 808-359-1616, binhiatani.org
