Too old to go trick-or-treating? Tired of the haunted house scene? This weekend Haunted Haiku Hike returns as a creative alternative to the old Halloween standbys. For a keiki-friendly experience, the hike opens between 12pm-3pm and kids can enjoy a mythical creature petting zoo, secret caves and a mystery maze. Between 5pm-8pm, the real ghosts come out during the adult (appropriate) festivities. Leave the kids at home for a night of creepy crawlers and extra scares. This trail may thrill or chill, so be on your guard. Proceeds benefit the The Sanctuary Birth and Wellness Center. All children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Comfortable walking shoes, water, sunscreen and flashlights are recommended. $15 adult ($10 pre-sale), $5 kids. (1008 Awalau Rd., Haiku); 808-878-8091, jeremysafron.com/hauntedhike
