Hilo native and Maui Community College Culinary Program alumni Chef Sheldon Simeon achieved national fame as a top finalist on the 10th Season of Bravo’s Top Chef. Of course, the 2013 Aipono Chef of the Year Award recipient has had his fork in many projects since then. Catch Chef Simeon on Saturday, Aug. 24 at MALA and Wednesday, Aug. 28 at HONU for a four-course prefixe menu. A percentage of each plate will go to Punana Leo O Maui and Lahaina State Park. If his accolades haven’t impressed you, Simeon’s signature dinner menu will. Mala’s dinner features Chicharone pupu and Onaga while Honu’s menu includes Rice Cracker pupu and Kampachi.
