Bursting onto the scene in 2004 as the first place winners in the ARD International Music Competition (pretty much the biggest international classical music competition there is), France’s Quatuor Ebène graces the McCoy Studio this Friday. Composed of four string players, the quartet has pushed genre boundaries by finding a niche sound that blends classical, contemporary, Jazz and crossover. Off of an equally successful U.S. tour, the French foursome is traveling to the Pacific for what promises to be an electrifying performance. $40. 7:30pm. Maui Arts and Cultural Center, McCoy Studio (One Cameron Way, Kahului); 808-242-7469, mauiarts.org
