Micah Nelson’s problem is that he’s into everything. And so is the band he’s part of with Logan Metz, Lincoln Mendell, Gerry Hirschfeld, Devin McCartey and Chris Bullard: The Reflectacles. I asked him to “define” the band’s style and received a list of bands he thinks they’re kinda-sorta like: everything from The Beatles to Of Montreal to some guy at a show in Northridge’s opinion: “If John Fogerty ate a bunch of acid.” His favorite song to play? “That’s impossible. That’s like if I was a father of 10,000 children and you were asking me to choose between them..I’m sorry, I don’t know if I could ever answer that.” This crazily-prolific, all-over-the-place, pyschedelic folk-rolk band comes across as polished, alive and like they could provide the soundtrack to the best cross-country road trip of your life. This weekend, The Reflectacles are back from Cali, visiting Micah’s childhood home, and are making the rounds at a couple of good spots. On Friday, they’ll join Folk Uke at Stella Blues; on Saturday they’ll be at Charley’s with special guests, for a $20 cover charge. “So come and take a ride with me, I’ll show you places far and wide…”
