Tryptophanatics rejoice, its turkey time!
Choice buffets:
Coconut Grill (100 W. Kaahumanu Ave.Kahului, HI 96732, 808-871-8881) is featuring a prime rib and seafood buffet $34.95, kids $15.95 and 4 under free, has a seafood bar with oysters on the half shell and crab legs. More seafood selections from the coconut grill include shrimp and clam scampi and dill battered mahi. All this plus barbeque ribs, smoked pit ham, turkey, and prime rib. Desserts include tarts, cakes and pies.
Mulligan’s on the Blue (100 Kaukahi St.Wailea, HI 96753, 808-874-1131) is featuring a buffet for $25 from 4 to 8pm, their traditional turkey will be served with butternut squash and seafood bisque, as well as a green bean almondine. They top it off nicely with apple crisp and haupia.
Moana Cafe (71 Baldwin Ave.Paia, HI 96779, 808-579-9999) has all you can eat buffet $26.95 or $9.95 for kids, and 6 and under are free, that starts at 3 and seats till 7pm. Plenty of Roasted turkey and such on the menu, but some of the things that got me excited are the sweet potato croquets, pumpkin lumpia and the German Chocolate Cake here. The bakery is always incredible, and the asian influence in Moana Cafe’s flavors can’t be beat.
The King Kamehameha Golf Club (2500 Honoapiilani Hwy.Wailuku, HI 96793, 808-249-2544) Brunch starts at 10 am for first seating and cost $39 adults, kids are half price, 5 and under free. The pupus alone were impressive with shrimp cocktail, sushi, smoked salmon, cheese and fruits. They also have quite an array of salads. Their meats include roast turkey, prime rib, pork loin, shortribs, mahimahi. Pumpkin pie, cream pie, creme brulee and cheesecake grace the dessert table. Take it all in with breathtaking haleakala views
Tiki Terrace (2525 Kaanapali Pkwy.Lahaina, HI 96761, 808-661-0011) Buffet early bird starts at 11am for $38.95 kids 6-12 $22, dinner seating is 3:30 to 7 pm. Kaanapali Beach Hotel’s all you can eat buffets are infamous with the locals. This is no exception with hawaiian music and hula between 5 and 7:30 to entertain you.
Alternative to turkey available:
Makawao Rodeo General (3661 Baldwin Ave.Makawao, HI 96768, 808-572-1868) starts serving turkey at 10am with their turkey dinner for one at $10.99, or you can get all of the fixin’s pre made and by the pound from butternut squash soup to the prime rib. But if you are meat averse they have a arugula lentil loaf dinner for one too, served with mashed potatoes, green beans almondine, cranberry sauce and a roll. And you can get the complete vegetarian meal by the pound too. Mala Wailea (3700 Wailea Alanui Dr.
Wailea, HI 96753, 808-875-9394) will be serving a diverse buffet that offers the non turkey lover or even the non meat eater some refuge. Many asian and mediterranean cues are taken from Gado Gado Salad to the hummus and pita at the salad bar. Tofu shows up under the entrees with the Balinese Stir Fry but carnivores won’t be disappointed either with prime rib, herb crusted turkey and citrus glazed ham at the carving station. Starts at 3 with an early seating for $44.50 and $25 for 12 and under, and from 5 to 9pm $49.50 and $27 for 12 and under. Stella Blues (1279 South Kihei Rd., # 201 Kihei, HI 96753, 808-874-3779) serves up a special menu with a twist, fresh opah lettuce cups and waldorf salad and hummus with crab stuffed mahi, and veggie stir fry.
Sit Down Courses:
David Paul Island Grills (900 Front St. Suite A101.Lahaina, HI 96761, 808-662-3000) pre fixe menu at $48 dollars has 5 courses with an artichoke crab dip starter, kabocha squash soup, and apple blue cheese salad. The zinfandel roasted turkey with truffled succotash will be followed up by your choice of sweet potato pecan pie ala mode, pumpkin ice cream or bavarian cream with liqueur. Lulu’s Kihei (1945 S. Kihei Rd.Kihei, HI 96753, 808-879-9944) has a 3 course traditional dinner at $19 dollars that features some nice island style touches like Kalua turkey, pineapple Cranbery sauce and portuguese sausage stuffing. Your meal is finished with a choice of fresh baked pumpkin or Banana cream pie. Ruth’s Chris in Lahaina (900 Front St.Lahaina, HI 96761, 808-661-8815) and Wailea (3750 Wailea Alanui.Wailea, HI 96753, 808-874-8880) will be serving their traditional Thanksgiving 3 courses starting with crab chowder or house salad. The Roasted turkey plate is served with all the trimmings. Their pre fixe dinner is $45, and $19 for 12 and under. RB Black Angus (4465 Honoapiilani Highway.Lahaina, HI 96761, 808-669-8889) in Kahana is serving a 3 course dinner for only $24.95. Canoes (1450 Front St..Lahaina, HI 96761, 808-661-0937) will be serving a three course dinner with seating starting at 3pm for $35.95.
Traditional Turkey Plates:
Its and Irish pub feast at Dog and Duck (1913 S. Kihei Rd.Kihei, HI 96753, 808-875-9669), you know the mashed potatoes here are the best and their turkey dinner plate is $15 including dessert with kids getting half price. Come any time all day. Moose Mcgillycuddys in both lahaina (844 Front St.Lahaina, HI 96761, 808-667-7758) and kihei (2511 S. Kihei Rd.Kihei, HI 96753, 808-891-8600) is featuring a thanksgiving feast Turkey plate offering macadamia nut and italian sausage stuffing for $15.95 starts at 2 pm. Da Kitchen Kihei location (2439 S. Kihei Rd.Kihei, HI 96753, 808-875-7782) will be open and serving a yummy Turkey plate, with mashed potato, stuffing and gravy, from 9am till 9pm for $12.50. Big Wave (1215 S. Kihei Rd.Kihei, HI 96753, 808-891-8688) starts their 3 course dinner at at 4pm for $19.95. Ruby’s Diner will be open in Kahului serving up an amazing Turkey plate at a great value! Non Traditional Turkey Plates:
Lahaina Grill (127 Lahainaluna Rd., Lahaina, HI 96761, 808-667-5117) opens an half hour early to seat for Thanksgiving and serves their usual menu, but will be offering an amazing turkey plate with cranberry relish, yam and brussel sprouts, $41. The Turducken feast for $10 at Mulligan’s at the Wharf (658 Front St., Lahaina, HI 96761, 808-661-8881) is bound to be all kinds of fun, plus you get Turkey, duck and chicken all in one plate. Beach Bum Bar and grill (300 Maalaea Rd. # 1M, Ma’alaea, HI 96793, 808-243-2286) is serving smoked turkey and other meats from their smoker for 18.95 with all the fixings. Hyatt‘s got sustainable turkey!
