Kumu Hula Iola Balubar’s Halau Hula O Keola Ali`i O Ke Kai celebrates four decades of Polynesian dance this Saturday, June 27 at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. With students who’ve danced with the troop from keiki to kupuna, the evening will commemorate the legacy and history that Aunty Iola continues to build. Enjoy an evening of Hawaiian, Tahitian, Maori and Samoan dance. The halau has performed at the Merrie Monarch and on stages around the world. Uncle Richard Ho`opi`i, Hulu Lindsey and Uluwehi Guerrero are just a few musicians that will join the celebration in mele. 5pm pre-show/ 7pm show. $27.
