Unity Church will have a Easter Sacred Service Inspirational Message Easter Egg Hunt at 10 AM, April 4th at the Filipino Community Center in Kahului. Brunch is $10. Kings Cathedral/First Assembly Church will host Easter egg hunts for free, sponsored by donations from parishioners. The candy can be found April 2cnd, 8 AM at Lahaina Recreational Park, 12 PM at Kalama Park, Kihei, and 4 PM at Pukalani Park, as well as at 10 AM, April 3rd at Keoupualani Park. Also, the church will present “His Hands: The Musical,” April 2nd, 3rd and 4th at 7PM at King’s Cathedral/First Assembly. $10 for adults, $5 for children.
Keeping with the theatrical theme of the weekend, head over to Iao Theater on April 2nd to watch the classic, hilarious movie “Harvey” at 7 PM, for FREE. The show is to be accompanied by an endless bag of popcorn and “Big Kids” Easter Egg Hunt. It’s a Brodway show, but not a musical, so relax, your kids won’t be singing like Shirley Temple until next Easter rolls around. The Easter bunny also plans to do a lot of party-hopping this weekend: Friday, April 2cnd, he’ll be at Ka’ahumanu Mall for kiddie photo shoots from starting at 10 AM. On April 3rd he’s hosting a Breakfast Buffet at the Hard Rock Cafe Maui from 8:30-11 AM, Adults $20, kids $15, with part of the profit going to support West Side Soroptomist for a Lahainaluna Scholarship and the Domestic Woman’s Task Force. Celebrate the start of Spring at the Maui Orchid Society’s annual Easter Orchid Show & Plant Sale on April 1 and 2 from 9 am – 6pm, as well as April 3rd from 9 am – 4 pm.
Don’t feel like you have to pick and choose between all the fun offerings for Easter Weekend. Just pre-game with some chocolate bunnies and you’ll be ready to hit every Easter Hotspot with the kids and help Easter win its rightful position as the New Halloween. By: Sierra Brown
