What’s fresh in Mauians’ disc-changers? If anyone knows, it’s the stewards of sound at the isle’s last legit record store, Requests. Curating for quality, Requests’s Brendan Smith and Jay Pacubas carefully formulated these lists of the shop’s top sellers and in-demand albums. What began as a simple rundown for their blog (bahayboys.blogspot.com) steadily grew to cover six major genres plus three supplemental categories. Not wanting their efforts wasted, Smith and Pacubas pitched MauiTime. It was a a no-brainer. Not only is it perfectly timed for this week’s issue, but we hold their judicious taste in high regard (and you should, too).
So, pat yourself on the back for the albums you already own—and as for the albums you need, well, you know where to go.
