[CLASSICAL] The Alexander String Quartet will be performing a special concert on Maui in honor and remembrance of the late, great Mozart. The quartet originally formed in New York City in 1981 and since then has been around the world and back. Since forming, the group has won many awards and played alongside many prestigious musicians. Touring all over the U.S. and internationally, the four-member group has received much praise and notoriety for technical skill as well as innovation. The group consists of three violins and a cello and have accomplished the feat of bringing a new sound to old, but not tired, tunes. I wonder if they know anything by Jimmy Cliff? Tickets: $30. Call 242-7469. [GABRIELLE POCCIA]
