MAKAWAO RODEO AND PANIOLO PARADE – Thu-Sun, July 3-6. Saddle up for the 59th Annual Makawao Rodeo (July 3-6) and the 49th Annual Makawao Paniolo Parade (July 5). The Rodeo never ceases to entertain with four full days of qualifying rounds, bull-riding, team-roping, mugging, barrel racing and more. Friday’s Bull Bash will amp the crowd for Saturday’s Colorful Hawaiian Style Parade (9am-11pm), complete with rodeo royalty, pa’u riders, classic cars, cowboys, cowgirls and local celebrities. LANAI PINEAPPLE FESTIVAL – Fri, July 4- Sat, Jul 5. The Pineapple Isle celebrates its annual Lanai Pineapple Festival this Friday from 2-6pm, and on Saturday from 3-9pm. Complete with a parade on Saturday at 3pm, the festival will take place in the heart of Lanai City at Dole Park. Heinz began painting with no formal art training other than what he was able to pick up in school, from associating with other artists and from the joys of experimentation and discovery.
