This Saturday, June 4, the Maui Humane Society and Sugar Beach Events will screen two films. First is The Champions, which tells a story of the pit bulls rescued from former Atlanta Falcons Quarterback Michael Vick’s dog-fighting ring. It focuses on dog prejudice, breed discrimination and humane dog relationships. Next up is For The Love of Dogs, a heart-warming flick that shows how an autistic child’s passion for dogs allowed him to flourish. Food and beverages available for purchase. Because of the subject matter, attending children must be 10 and older. $10-50. 6-9pm. Sugar Beach Events (85 N. Kihei Rd.); 808-877-3680 ext. 219; Mauihumanesociety.org
