[STAGE] “Feed me, Seymour! Feeeeed meeeeeee!” A desperate, nerdy young floral assistant cultivates an intriguing plant with a voracious diet—of human blood and flesh. Yummy! I get like that sometimes. But the kid can’t resist the sudden fame and fortune his carnivorous, phyto-diva“Audrey II” provides, even as its hunger grows to global proportions. Now that’s a musical! Jazz hands! It’s also a story that was originally released in 1960 as a dark comedy film that later spawned a softcore porno in 1973 (the 70’s, go figure), a stage musical in ’82 and an updated movie in ’86. Apparently, there’s also an animated TV series and a colorized version of the original film, too. But live and in color is what you’ll get this week, and really, when it comes to R&B singing, man-eating plants and sadistic dentists, isn’t that best? Suitable for all ages. Tickets: $20 adults, $18 seniors and students. Sunday matinee: $15. Get tickets online at www.mauionstage.com or at If the Shoe Fits, 14 N. Market St., Wailuku. For more info, call 242-6969.
