The Chinese Lunar Year Celebrations go on for fourteen days after the New Year, they know how to ring in a lunar celebration. Each day has special significance, today falls on Day 7 of the lunar celebration known as the Birthday of Mankind. As with all Chinese celebrations there is elaborate meals for good luck, so Chef Alvin Savella is serving a sumptuous spread at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas Ocean Pool Bar. Feast on pork bao and fresh catch with lup cheong, bak choy and forbidden rice among other terrific feasts to be had.
The Lion rears its head at 6 pm and dances through both the south and north towers (in that order). The Lion accepts little gifts of Hong Bao (the little red envelopes) and you stuff a little cash and coin to expedite your New Years good luck.
To also clean the system on the New Years the Spa Helani will be offering reflexology that relieves pain by stimulation of pressure points. Such a fantastic idea!
