It’s a once in a lifetime celebration! Well, Lahainaluna will only turn 175 years old once. So show your support of their amazing Alumni, me included, by participating in the anniversary celebration. The fun starts on Friday with a huge parade that features classes from 1941 to present marching together by class down Front Street in Lahaina. The opening ceremony at Kamehameha Iki park will follow hosted by none other than Russell Yamanoha (class of ’84, you go Russell!), KHNL 8 sportscaster. On Saturday you can join everyone chowing down on some onolicious kau kau at the Lu’au at Lahainaluna High School. Tickets are only $10! The David Malo Pageant concludes Saturday evening paying tribute to Lahainluna’s legacy with song and dance. This entertainment filled pageant is hosted by Michael (Pangan) Tabura (class of 89) and Kathy Nakagawa (class of 88) from KSSK FM. C’mon, it’ll more fun than high school, plus you can buy commemorative shwag too. For parade info call 661-5332; luau and pageant tix call 662-4000; www.lahainaluna.com. [JEN RUSSO]
