La Paulée de Meursault is originally a lunch held to celebrate the grape harvest in Burgundy, France. Attendees consist of people who live in the surrounding areas and winemakers. Since then, many other places have started holding their own La Paulée celebrations, and Merriman’s in Kapalua is bringing their own version of the traditional celebration to Maui. They promise lots of good food, and, more importantly, good wine. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bottles in the spirit of La Paulée (corkage fees will be waived): no California allowed. Merriman’s is serving a five-course meal and guests can expect to see wines from Dominique Lafon, Lignier, Frederic Magnien, Robert Chevillon, and Michel Picard’s Hospice de Beaune Meursault. $145 per person (RSVP Required). 6:30 pm.
