[FILM] I once watched a surf video on a wall. My boyfriend at the time was so excited that he’d purchased a projector we had to watch it. I thought his enthusiasm was somewhat childish, or maybe I’m remembering it that way because I resent him. Nonetheless, I was blown away. Seeing the skills of talented athletes always gives me goose bumps. And that was only a projection about four-by-six feet. Imagine what watching an intense winter sport video on the largest screen in Maui complete with surround sound could do to a girl. Yes, that’s right, keep imagining and I’ll leave you with a quote from Max Bervy, Higher Ground Producer/Director. “To achieve Higher Ground we set out to capture a select group of individuals in amazing locations, pushing their athletic boundaries. For mountaineer Dave Barlia it meant flying 10 feet off the ground, at 130 miles per hour, while wearing his winged suit on the slopes of Chamonix, France. For World Cup mogul champion and Olympic Gold Medal favorite Jeremy Bloom, ‘it was a life changing experience,’ when we invited him to heli-ski for the first time in the wild backcountry terrain of British Columbia.” Tix are $12 for adults, $10 for the keiki.
