[MUSIC] You voted them Best Rock Band on Maui in this year’s Best Of issue. Although Voodoo Suns’ Anastasia and Nils occasionally rock the blues covers, this gig’s in celebration of the release of their all-original CD, Songs from the Haleakala Kitchen—an album apparently recorded in an old farmhouse kitchen. Yeah, Maui style! Only, you know, with help from key producer Walter Becker of Steely Dan. Yeah, he might know a thing or two. Anyway, Bob Jones opens and the V-Suns go on at 11 p.m. Prizes, giveaways and special guests all night long. I’d like to encourage “naked frolicking and rock n’ roll depravity” but we don’t wanna get anyone in trouble seeing as how Charley’s is now one of TWO bars in Paia that plays live music these days. So just bring your ID, have fun and don’t poke anybody’s eye out, ‘k?
