[POLITICAL RALLY] With very little fanfare, the state law that made it legal for Hawaiians to grow hemp expired back on June 30, 2005. But have no fear, hemp lovers: there are people right now—none of whom is Republican super-lobbyist/fraud Jack Abramoff, I believe—lobbying to get a new hemp law on the books. But they require money and support, political legislation being so time-consuming and expensive, you know. Anyway, you can help out this Saturday by showing up at Hapa’s for the big IHEMP Social. There will be plenty of hemp discussions, but also live music from Erin Smith, The Easy and Sirus B Posse. So go. I’m sure it will be hemptastic. Oh, and there’s a $4.20 cover charge. Get it? That is so hilarious. Just don’t forget the money. [ANTHONY PIGNATARO]
