Saturday (June 16), 7 p.m. at A&B Amphitheater, MACC
You all have heard of Matisyahu—best known for his original fusion of orthodox Judaism and classic reggae music. Having gone through his own rejection and acceptance of beliefs on a spiritual path, Matisyahu’s performance and music is that much more uplifting, powerful and honest. But speaking of powerful and honest, be sure to give a hearfelt listen to opening act Citizen Cope, the pseudonym of Clarence Greenwood, a multi-instrumentalist East Coast musician, record producer and one-time DJ for the hip-hop group Basehead. Gates open at 5 p.m. Tickets: $40 in advance. To purchase, visit MACC box office at One Cameron Way in Kahului, call 242-7469 or visit online at www.mauiarts.org.
