[CLASSICAL] The term “classical music” covers a broad range of styles of music that have been around since the fall of the Roman Empire. Can you imagine what it must have been like to go to a concert in the year—let’s say the year 1606? Would it have been like going to an epic, arena-sized concert today? You know, without pyrotechnics and video displays, that is. Speaking of which, Robert Pollock is the founder of the Ebb and Flow Ensemble. He is also a composer and a pianist. Members of the Honolulu Symphony will be performing as part of Ebb and Flow, including Mark Votapek, cello, Ignace Jang, violin, and Scott Anderson, clarinet. Together they will be performing recently commissioned works as well as modern contemporary favorites, along with very contemporary multimedia presentations. Tickets: $25, half-price for keiki. Call 242-7469. [KB]
