[DANCE MUSIC] Local artist, party host extraordinaire and dance music technician Ray Masters (that’s his artwork to the right) has been working and playing harder than ever recently. He’s got a stunning new art gallery “Masters of Art,” which opened a couple months ago at the Old Paia Train Depot. Next week he’ll open Cafe del Ray, an outdoor cafe and restaurant in the same innovative location. And recently, Ray’s become one of the North Shore’s most popular deejays; in response to the demand for a regular helping of his danceworthy beats, he has taken up a residency at Jacques on the first Friday of each month. He’s built up a large and loyal, young and beautiful, internationally stylish and carefree fan base so if you want to be on the inside, get there early before the line goes ‘round the block (believe me, it does—and quickly, too—usually by 11 p.m.!). You’ll wanna be a good boy/girl scout so bring your dough, your breath mints, your compact mirror and your dancing stilettos, boots or slippahs, and be prepared for extreme Jacquerie! Danse, partie, rire, fort de phase!
