Nip slips are now a symbol of our equal rights under the U.S. Constitution. Following the men who took to the beaches of Atlantic City in 1935 and proclaimed their right to expose their pecs, the women of Maui will celebrate International Go Topless Day at Rainbow Park in Paia this Sunday, Aug. 23 from 3pm to 5pm. And no, this isn’t a tropical edition of Girls Gone Wild. Official Hawaii laws protect women’s right to bare their breasts. This is a social justice movement spreading beyond Little Beach, not a spring break party extending from Miami Beach. Rainbow Park (Baldwin Ave., Paia); Facebook.com/freethenipmaui
