12 @ TWILIGHT GOLF TOURNAMENT – Maui United Way has been serving the people of Maui for more than six decades. This Saturday, the nonprofit organization’s 12 @ Twilight golf tournament invites teams out to the Wailea Blue Golf Course. There you can enjoy a 12-hole course, refreshments and drinks at each hole, all while helping Maui United Way. Contests include getting the ball closest to the pin, making the longest drive and scoring a hole in one. Following the tournament, there will be a silent auction and reception. Unable to attend? MAUI FIL-AM HERITAGE FESTIVAL – The balut eating contest, Manong Flores #Yoyo Contest and a chance to win airfare to the Philippines are a few of the many activities happening at the third annual Fil-Am Heritage Festival. COONEY SURF CONTEST – Located on Maui’s North Shore, Ho’okipa is renowned for conditions that allow all manner of surfing. Seasoned windsurfers and surfers gather this Saturday for the ninth annual Cooney Surf Contest. The day-long competition honors the late Steve Cooney, a surfing enthusiast who tragically lost his life in a car accident. Aside from the eight divisions, this year’s special event is the “Invitational Air Show,” which gives contestants the opportunity to show off their aerial maneuvers. FREE UKULELE WORKSHOP – Leading up to the eighth annual Ukulele Festival is a free Ukulele Workshop on Saturday.
