ST. PADDY’S DAY – Saint Patrick was a religious man who performed miracles but that doesn’t mean we have to celebrate him in church. The Irish tradition is to feast and drink to him with vigor from a seat at the bar. Works for me! Maui has no Irish parades, but we do have plenty of great Irish food on St. Paddy’s day. It’s definitely the day for shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips, all washed down with Harp and Jameson whiskey. Charley’s celebrates a day early so on Saturday get your green on and your cover will be half price. On Sunday the leprechauns come out in Wailea for lunch buffet and entertainment at Mulligan’s and Longhi’s will have DJs Sweet Beets and Lovelace. Umalu and Pailolo are throwing St. Paddy’s festivals. In Kihei, Dog & Duck and Diamonds have planned a weekend bash like you’ve never seen, plus a shuttle between the two. There’s nothing more Irish than a Paddy party bus adventure. Did someone say Irish Car Bombs?
