Someone once described Bob Dylan to me as a rebel, quite true, but his music career has been more than revolutionary. A pulitzer prize winning musician, poet, singer songwriter, the man is still winning prestigious awards, like the one he got from President Obama in 2012. MauiTime has to get behind his freedom fighting spirit so we can’t wait for the show.

BOB DYLAN is undeniably one of the most influential Rock & Roll musicians of the last century. With a career spanning more than four decades his gifted and original song writing has inspired a countless number of other musicians as well as defined and impacted entire generations of America’s cultural landscape. DYLAN’S music often touched on contemporary social issues and chart toppers include, “Like a Rolling Stone”, “Tangled Up in Blue”, “Just Like a Woman”, “All Along the Watchtower”, “Mr. Tambourine Man”, “Blowin’ in the Wind”, “Lay Lady Lay”, “Maggie’s Farm”, “Times They Are a Changing”, “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall”, “I Shall Be Released”, “It’s Alright, Ma (I’m Only Bleeding)”, “Visions of Johanna”, and “Every Grain of Sand”. Among his numerous awards, in 1997 DYLAN became the first rock musician to receive the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime achievement in the performing arts and in 2008 he was the recipient of the highly esteemed Pulitzer Prize for his “profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power.”
