LOCAL ARTIST’S JEWELRY SHOWING – Maui Hands Gallery is presenting local artist Robin Kaimikaua this Thursday at the Paia location. She’ll be showing off her line of sterling silver earrings. The Oahu-born artist uses the shells and glass she’s collected over the years as the focal point in her silver settings. PICNIC FOR POKI – Picnic for Poki presents the Lee sisters (otherwise known as Makani). Hailing from the Windy City, they’ve used music to stay connected to their Hawaiian roots. It was a visit to the Big Island more than a decade ago that first sparked the ohana’s interest in Hawaiian music. Now the Lee girls make their debut on the Picnic for Poki stage. ART=MIXX POP FASHION – ArT=Mixx is returning to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. OBON FESTIVAL – As part of an island-wide celebration, the Obon Festival stops in central Maui at the Pu’unene Nichiren Mission. The Buddhist event honors ancestors with dances and rituals. KI HO‘ALU GUITAR FESTIVAL – Gather your ohana for the annual Ki Ho’alu Guitar Festival, which will take place on the grounds of Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Literally translated as “loosen the key,” the festival has been attracting the elite in slack key guitar for the past two decades. SOLO AUTOCROSS – This Sunday, the Maui Sports Car Club of America is inviting fans and drivers alike to their monthly Solo Autocross event.
