Mana‘o Radio (broadcasting at 91.5 FM and at manaoradio.com) is Maui’s live, commercial-free, nonprofit station. Support their good intentions and help them continue to provide music for Hawaii by celebrating their 8th anniversary and remembering the co-founder Barry Shannon. Hopefully by the time the festival opens, these overcast skies and tsunami scares will have given it a rest and we can enjoy the return to normal Hawaii weather by basking in the sun at this all-day, open-air music festival. The event will feature more than a dozen bands, including some of the usual suspects, such as Amy Hanaiali‘i and her band, John Cruz and The Throwdowns. Overhead at BarryFest ’09: “It’s like a Maui mini-Woodstock…just a fabulous, feel-good day!” There is no such thing as having too many feel-good vibes in life, so scoop up your share of music, food and fun. Free parking at War Memorial Stadium. Tickets available at the event only.
